It was this sweet family's third deployment but first with both the girls. They wanted to make sure they got this photographed to remember the girls reactions. Older sis totally got the whole thing, and the few hours of wait before seeing daddy was pure torture for her. Little sis was a little confused and just wanted a nap.
This was a pretty low key homecoming but the emotion was still there. It always takes all of me to not shed a tear when I see families reunited, especially when littles are involved. These guys also hit it lucky because the weather was just as emotional. It was sunny, hot, then cloudy and threatening rain. Thank goodness the rain held out till just after all the Marines had reunited with their families! God must have been shedding some happy tears to know these Marines were back with their loved ones ;)
We watched the buses come in, drop off the Marines and then watched the Marines walk away from us. Off to the armory. PURE. TORTURE. The girls took up coloring on a check book with pens found at the bottom of my camera bag. Little sis took a liking to me and was so cuddly, it was just adorable.
And then the moment they had all been waiting for. So happy for this family. Welcome home, Marine. I hope you are all enjoying being together again!!
