Two years before I shot this beautiful momma-to-be's maternity photos I was photographing her and her fiance at their engagement session. No I didn't shoot a wedding and didn't tell you all but they really wanted engagement photos so she hired me. It is still one of my favorite couples sessions to this day and unfortunately I wasn't into blogging back then so I can't even link it back (*SIGH*). Flash forward to this past October when my sweet friend Jillian came over and we went down the road and got her some GORGEOUS maternity shots!!

C. Family | Camp Lejeune Family Photographer | Camp Lejeune, NC
I LOVE so much when the Marine Corps keeps people in your life. More importantly, I love even more when the Marine Corps allows me to photograph clients at different duty stations because we ended up together again and again! I first met this family in Virginia. Jean and I clicked thanks to our similar fondness for running. Her kiddos were my main subjects the first time around as she wanted to get some good photos of them for their school photos. I mean those cheesy school photos are great for keepsakes and all but some prefer to have photos of their kids that totally speak their personality. B had the coolest animal print hat and Z was all tough cuz ya know, guys are tough. They were a lot of fun and we got some great fall colors!

N.Couple | First Anniversary Session | Camp Lejeune Couples Photographer
Not to many people ask me to style a session for them. It kind of bums me out because I think customizing sessions to speak about you as a family, couple, what have you is not only fun but important. Having photos done isn't just about having PHOTOS DONE. It's about capturing the moment and who you are as a couple/family/person.

C.Family | Marine Corps Homecoming | Camp Lejeune Homecoming Photographer
I'm usually choked up at homecomings. The build up to this homecoming was more than the homecoming itself. But it was a homecoming no less and it's always sweet to see families reunited!!

T.Family | New River Military Homecoming | New River Homecoming Photographer
I've photographed my fair share of homecomings but nothing like this one. This was my first time experiencing a homecoming at an air station where the Marines flew in as we stood and watched! An emotional homecoming for sure as I sat and watched Momma and her little guy welcome home their Marine.

D.Family | Military Homecoming | Camp Lejeune Homecoming Photographer
OOOOOH HOMECOMINGS!!!!!! Such an emotional time!! I have so missed capturing these special moments! Three years at Quantico was great but homecomings are pretty much non-existent there! This lovely family was my first homecoming here at Camp Lejeune and I am honored to have been there to capture it for them!

McAndrews Family | Camp Lejeune Family Photographer
Ever have things go completely wrong, stress you out and drive you crazy only to have the end result turn out better than what you expected in the beginning?? Well that pretty much describes our move from VA to NC! All the craziness led us to meeting this incredible family and I'm glad the stars aligned so we could get to know them!

The Chronicles of EB: Norm & the Over-sized Button-up | Two Months Old | Watch EB Grow
WOW! So I may be a month late with this but raising a kid is hard work! He grew so much from one to two months. I don't even know where the time is going but it certainly needs to slow down.

The Chronicles of EB: Norm & the Over-sized Button-Up | One Month Old | Watch EB Grow
Hello, my photography fans! WELCOME, to the newest (and first!) blog series for KCP. When I found out I was pregnant, well let's face it, even before I was pregnant, I knew I would have to figure out a Watch Me Grow series for my littles. The ever so lovely Amanda of Amanda Hedgepeth Photography was my initial inspiration for doing a series on the blog. Sure I thought about doing the typical sticker watch me grow deal but when I got serious about my photography with nice equipment, I vowed I would use it for my personal life and it wouldn't just sit in my camera bag waiting for the next session.

B.Family | Fredericksburg, VA
When I got out of the car at the beginning of this session, I immediately thought, WOW these ladies are beautiful! It's not every day that I have a family with older kids so this was a fun change. Usually I am jumping around, yelling silly things and squeaking my Shutter Buddy to get the kiddos attention. This session, I didn't even have to say smile! It was kind of fun to be able to REALLY concentrate on styling the shot, looking for the best light and angle and getting tack sharp photos!
